Fei Gei Lam (Aeroplane Olive)
Fei Gei Lam (Aeroplane Olive) is a unique traditional craft in Hong Kong, combining distinctive methods of olive preparation and selling techniques. It has been included in Hong Kong's Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Made from "Wo Shun Lam" (Harmony Olive) blended with spices, this craft originated in the resettlement areas and low-rise buildings of old Hong Kong. Vendors employed special sales techniques, such as singing lively adapted songs to attract public attention while using unique throwing skills to toss the spiced "Wo Shun Lam" up to multi-story buildings, hence the name "Fei Gei Lam". This cultural practice not only reflects the unique social life and environment of Hong Kong at the time but also showcases the adaptability of Hong Kong people. By delivering their delicious "Wo Shun Lam" to customers in an innovative way—accompanied by songs and snacks—it created a delightful experience for all.
