b.wing graduated from Middlesex University in London and began her art career in 2003 after assisting fashion photographer Niall McInerney. She held her first solo exhibition, “If You Don’t Want to Be Perfect, You’ve Come to the Right Place,” at agnès b. Librairie Galerie in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Taipei. Recognized for her quirky and colorful style, b.wing infuses her illustrations with diverse influences. Her journey started with A-boy, an iconic character she created in 2006, depicted as an eternally seven-year-old boy with rabbit ears. A-boy emerged as a means of escape during lonely times. As b.wing grew, her relationship with A-boy evolved, reflecting her deeper self-exploration and courage to confront life’s challenges. This inspired her emotive ink graffiti, which resonates deeply with viewers, connecting them to her personal experiences and struggles.
