PLANETX | Holding on to Childhood Imagination
Childhood is where many of our first worlds were formed.
Long before logic or responsibility, there were heroes, monsters, and machines—figures that helped us understand fear, power, and hope.
PLANETX grows out of this shared experience. It reimagines classic sciencefiction icons as soft vinyl figures, objects designed not only to be collected, but to preserve the emotional charge of imagination made physical.
The visual language of PLANETX is rooted in Japanese soft vinyl toys from the 1960s and 1970s.
Their exaggerated proportions and unapologetic colors are retained,
while contemporary production and detail anchor them in the present.
Together, these elements define a recognizable PLANETX identity.
Founded in 2016 by Joseph Tang, PLANETX is shaped by an architectural way of thinking.
Structure, balance, and systems are treated as essential components of form.
A figure is never only a character—it is a constructed response to a set of rules.
PLANETX works under official licenses from Tsuburaya Productions, Dynamic Planning, and collaborates with toy creators across international scenes.
